Chris Hurn is a composer best known for his modern, hybrid scores for film trailers. He has had music featured in the trailer campaigns for Avengers: End Game, Star Wars: The Last Jedi & The Rise Of Skywalker, Black Widow, Apple's Foundation, Enola Holmes, The Batman, and many more.

Alongside his trailer work he also composes music for film, and video games. Most recently he won the 2021 Spitfire Audio film scoring competition judged by Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel). Although he is known for his hybrid work, he also enjoys writing more intimate scores - such as his work for "Give Kate A Voice" - an interactive short film highlighting Kate Shephard and the Woman's suffrage movement in the 1800's in New Zealand.

He has played in several bands with various genres - from folk to synth pop - which helps inform many of the choices he makes on his scores.  He has been the recipient of the "Making Tracks" grant from the NZ government several times for his songwriting.

Storytelling and collaboration is an essential part to his approach to scoring, and he is an avid student of film, and the filmmaking process.

Chris Hurn is a New Zealand born composer, holding a degree from the University Of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music Composition (Hons).
